Notifications

Notifications keep you in the loop when you're not watching a chat — a task finished, an agent needs you, something needs attention. They reach you wherever you are: in the dashboard, or pushed to your browser.

Delivered where you'll see it

OtoDock sends each notification to the right place automatically:

  • If you're active in the dashboard, it appears as a toast with a sound and lands in your notification bell.
  • If you're away, it's pushed to your browser as a system notification — so you don't miss it.

Either way, every notification is saved in your inbox, so nothing is lost even if no alert was showing at the time. Click one to jump straight to the chat or task run it came from.

note

Browser push needs your install served over HTTPS (see Installation) — browsers only allow it on a secure origin. On a plain-HTTP trial you'll still get toasts in the dashboard.

Severity levels

Notifications carry a severity that shapes how insistent they are:

SeverityBehavior
Info / SuccessA brief toast with a chime; auto-dismisses.
WarningAmber, stays longer, distinct sound.
DangerRed, doesn't auto-dismiss, and plays an alarm.

Danger is meant for things you truly can't miss — an agent surfacing a real problem from a monitoring task, for example.

Who gets notified

  • Personal notifications go to one person.
  • Agent notifications go to everyone who works with that agent.

Agents can create notifications on a schedule or one-off, and tasks notify you when they finish based on their settings (see Tasks).

Managing notifications

The notification bell shows everything, grouped by recency, with an unread badge. Mark items read, dismiss them (swipe on mobile), or open one to jump to the chat or task it came from.
