Artifacts
Ask for a chart and you get a chart — not a description of one. Artifacts are live, interactive pieces of UI your agents build and render right in the chat: charts, styled tables, dashboards, calculators, timelines, animations, or any small custom interface the moment calls for.
They appear inline in the conversation, borderless and matched to your light or dark theme, and they stay interactive — sort a table, drag a slider, flip through tabs — all inside the chat.
When agents reach for them
Agents create artifacts when a visual beats prose: comparing numbers, showing a trend, laying out a schedule, or handing you a small working tool (a unit converter, a what-if calculator, a filterable list). You can also just ask — "show that as a chart" or "make me a tip calculator".
Every artifact is saved as a file in the agent's workspace, so you can ask the agent to tweak it — and the same artifact updates live, right where it first appeared in the conversation. That lets one artifact carry through a whole session: a trip-planning board the agent keeps current as each flight and hotel gets booked, a comparison that grows as you discuss options — no new copy per change.
Buttons that talk back
Artifacts aren't read-only. A button inside one can send an interaction back into the chat — "Analyze this row", "Apply this option", a small form you fill in — and the agent picks it up as its own clearly-labeled input and continues working. A report becomes a working tool.
The first time an artifact tries to send something, you're asked to allow or block it — nothing leaves the page without your say-so.
Safe by construction
Artifact content is agent-generated, so OtoDock treats it accordingly:
- Every artifact runs in a fully sandboxed frame with no access to your dashboard session, cookies, or any OtoDock API.
- A persistent "generated" marker distinguishes agent UI from OtoDock's own interface.
- Interactions back into the chat are delivered as page events with clear provenance — never as if you had typed them — and are rate-limited.
Works everywhere
Artifacts render in normal chats, in the embedded terminal view as floating windows, and in task run history. They replay when you reopen a chat, and a fullscreen control gives big dashboards room to breathe — on desktop and mobile alike.
